Roadking History
Roadking started with the infamous Hollies (Cannock), Greasy Lil’s if you remember that far back, just off J12 on the M6, the oldest truckstop in the UK (the original cottage was built in 1894) and an institution not just for the transport industry, but for anyone passing this part of the country. Main meals, snacks or the best breakfast in the country, 24 hrs a day! However, in the past you also had to wear wellies to get from the carpark to the café and hope that the holes were only as deep as your wellies….. Roadking Cannock in 2016 now has an extended truck park for 200+ vehicles and no potholes due to the area being fully refurbished and concreted. History now brought fully into the 21st century!
By asking drivers what they want in a truckstop, Roadking tries to raise the bar in quality of life for drivers and security for companies. By doing this, Roadking hopes that more and especially younger drivers will be attracted to the industry where they are now in short supply. They are looking to open more truckstops around the country in the very near future offering more of the same!
